(Physically, vision may fade but wisdom remains sharp)
Acrylic on canvas, 80 × 60 cm
This painting honours the endurance of wisdom as the body changes with age. Across the composition, a boy grows into adolescence, adulthood, and finally elderhood. His figure darkens in tone as the journey unfolds, signifying both time and the weight of experience. At the end, he sits once more — crowned with wisdom, carrying the responsibility of cultural memory.
The crown, drawn from Akwa Ibom royal regalia, is here reimagined as a crown of wisdom: a symbol of inheritance passed from generation to generation. While physical vision fades, knowledge endures — a legacy that remains sharp.
