Kiẹ su idañ, ñyọn su ọkwọñ.

Oron proverbs voiced by Joshua Osung, with thanks for his contribution.

(Be as swift as an arrow or as slow as a snail)

Acrylic on canvas, 80 × 60 cm

This work reflects on the rhythm of life: knowing when to act with urgency, and when to move with patience. The twin figures, haloed in gold, stride in opposite directions — one light-footed and swift, the other measured and deliberate. Set against a glowing red horizon, they embody the dual wisdom of speed and stillness.

The proverb reminds us that survival depends not only on action but on recognising when to advance and when to wait. It is a meditation on balance: instinct tempered by restraint, movement shaped by timing.
